Camp Delawaxen’s progress from Trotzy’s Management in 1925 to the boy’s and girl’s summer camp in the 1950’s and 60’s probably follows the evolution of camps and recreation in the region.
We do find that in 1944 the camp hosted the Rabbinical Assembly of US and Canada, and in 1947.
About the same time that the Trotzskys were incorporating Camp Delawaxen, The NY Post published an article lampooning Lackawaxen Village for being run by women. By today’s standards the Post crosses a line or two but perhaps in 1925, the Roaring Twenties, when women asserted their independence, their readers found the article humorous.
