On around August 10th, a bear attacked and killed a deer in the river. The attack happened up at the top of St. Vincent’s Pointe at the public access beach. Ordinarily, a bear hunting and eating a deer would be another day in natural life, but being that it occurred in broad daylight while rafters were passing by means this bear was particularly hungry. Please be aware of your pets.
